TROPJR

Welcome!

We are very pleased to announce the first ever TROP JR: The Worlds Largest Short Film Festival for Kids! By Kids!

Created by the folks who bring you Sony Tropfest, TROP JR is a short filmmaking competition open to kids aged 15 years and younger. So if you are a budding young filmmaker - or just want to have some fun with your friends - grab a camera and start shooting your masterpiece!

Its Tropfest tradition to include a signature item in your film to show that it was made for our festival. The TROP JR Signature Item (TSI) for 2008 is GREEN. You may interpret this in any way you like be creative! Just like big Trop, TROP JR is one of the best exhibition opportunities for rising talent, giving filmmakers a chance to screen their films in one of the most unique festival environments in the world. Bring the family along (as well as a picnic blanket and basket!) for a fun-filled afternoon on Sunday 17th February. 8 TROP JR Finalists will premiere their films to a live audience in Sydneys Domain, before Sony Tropfest 2008.

The TROP JR team would like to extend a special thanks to our TROP JR Presenting Partner, The Australian Childrens Television Foundation. We have been passionate about this initiative for some years now, and it is their support and vision that has brought this dream to life!
